c450 with steering issues poll
Charliebear wants to better track those of us that have noted the issue with C450 steering vibration at low speeds and tight turns. If you arent aware here is the post I started a few weeks ago.

Like I've stated on your other thread, I too have the same issue only when the wheel is turned and is straightening itself at low speed does this vibration occur. I have since given up and not care about the issue because it doesnt affect the drivability of the vehicle. Although, I do think the turning ratio could be better but that's just MB engineering on their end

I've had the same thing since day 1. Only when reversing though. Happened 50% of the time reversing. After I lowered the car it happens 100% of the time and it's more violent. Service advisor says its normal.
I came from Audi. It happened on the Audis maybe 2-3 times in 7 years of ownership.
I like this car but all the little things start to add up and service advisor keeps saying they're normal on this car.

I test drove 3 other cars... C300, c450, coupe and sedan... they all did it when I replicated the way mine does. Reversing and tight turning... its a function of the car.

The fact that this car does it EVERY SINGLE time just feels like bad engineering/design to me. People give weird looks even outside of the car.
It shouldn't be "normal". My brakes constantly squeeling when coming to a stop shouldn't be "normal". My transmission shifting and jerking the car at slow speeds shouldn't be "normal".

I don't actually know if they all do it. I haven't driven another c450 for myself. But so far everything I've complained about I was told by the dealer they all do it. It's normal. So if all these problems are normal on this car, it starts to sound like poor engineering/design.
I like the car. These things together keep me from loving it.

I haven't experienced this but i have only had the car a few days now. But after reading these threads I actually spent some time this morning trying to make this happen, but no vibrations at all, despite doing all the low speed stuff you guys have discussed previously. Does it take some time to manifest itself, or has it been doing this since Day 1 for everyone?
If anyone cares, my car's build date is January 2016

See if any new C450 owners has the 'loss of steering' has arisen that have not voted.
BTW, this is now not just a "vibration issue".
It's when you come out of a low speed turn and straighten out, that the wheels doesn't follow the steering wheel. It 'slips' between the two.

My dealership said that a "team" of engineers went to Canada to attempt to identify and fix the issue.
MBUSA told me the issue is within specifications however they are still working to resolve it.
I've nearly had it with MBUSA. Hopefully they at least pretend to make good when this is all said and done. I love the car, but I hate this situation.
