how long it usually takes for a SA to change an order to a different model?
I decided to go sedan instead of coupe, and already had a coupe on order (which wasn't going to be built until early september) and wanted to change it to basically an identical sedan.
Has anyone had to have their SA do something like that, and is it usually pretty quick? I was hoping to still get my car in october or so

I think it depends on dealer allocations more so than anything.
So let's say they had an unspoken car on it's way, still within time range of spec being changed. You will be allocated this car and could possibly get it even sooner.
If the dealership does not have any available allocations, it might take longer unless you push them to trade allocations with another dealership. This might work in your case, because you have the coupe as an offer to the other dealership with a customer possibly waiting for a coupe allocation.

All depends what allocations he can find and secure for you on a sedan rather than a coupe. Turnaround time will depend how quickly he is able to find/trade for the sedan allocation.
