New Window Felt. Acoustic Glass No Longer Standard
As many of you know, the C class with later build dates should have acoustic glass on front to keep the wind noise down (refer to this link for wind noise issue)https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...-bulletin.html
I have checked several cars on the lot from a local dealer. Some of the latest built cars no longer have acoustic glass on the front. But they do have new window felts installed (as other people had mentioned MB was working on a global solution to fix the rattles on the window/door), btw this kind of felt was implemented to China market about a year ago as people complain a lot about the rattles.
No Acoustic glass, but comes with new window felts.
S/Ns ending in 168292, 171687.
No Acoustic glass, possibly new windows felts (couldn't check as door was locked)
S/Ns ending in 171519, 164051.
Acoustic glass installed, no new felts.
S/N ending in 167828.
From evidence above, it's safe to conclude from now on, the new cars will not come with acoustic glass but will come with new window felts.
I have checked my C43 order, the code SA851 (code for acoustic glass) is not showing up and I assume it no longer is standard. a couple of weeks ago, when I checked the dealer ordering guide for 2017 W205s, code 851 was there (not sure though).

Yeah, I agree with Dapper. The additional cost for standard acoustic glass probably didn't make sense for Mercedes. On the new E-Class they are charging around $1,100 for a package that includes acoustic glass, thicker carpeting, and better sound insulation in certain parts of the car. I'm sure they'll offer an optional package like that on the C-Class in the future.

Just looked up the acoustic package you were referring to. MB is trying to get their money's worth out of E Class buyers, just to get the digital dash you need to option out a Premium 3 package, insane.

The acoustic glass on C class: I heard from other people it's $30 more expensive than normal glass per piece - if it's just that, I personally would pay for it. but who knows.
I have acoustic glass retrofitted into my current C300 as they tried to fix the wind noise issue. But I am getting a C43 soon.
Could it be possible that the dealer is willing to swap those windows for me as technically at that time both cars would be under my name before I handed in the keys to them. Of course I want them to do it for free though.. maybe as a throw in from the new car. It is very unlikely anyone has done it before.

It's a $1k option on top of the $11k P3! Crazy. For what is essentially a swollen C Class with the same T4? Yikes. I saw a new E on the road at a light for the first time recently and it took awhile for me to realize it wasn't a 205. They're really close. It wasn't until I realized the wheel style wasn't a 205's that it dawned on me. To option one out with the glass dash was over $70k. C63 money.

2016 C300 4Matic Lux w/ P1, P2, Lighting Package
My 3/16 build (bought it one month ago) has the acoustic glass. Cannot imagine how noisy this beast would be without it! I do not experience wind noise per se, but at highway speeds passing vehicles generate a wind-noise vortex-sounding thing in their wake. Very annoying.

Perhaps a silly question, but how can you tell when\where s particular vehicle was built? I've recieved mine couple from days ago, so assuming MY17, and the wind noise is very annoying.

I recently had the acoustic glass installed on my 2015 C300. The dealer installed both the front acoustic glass panes plus the felt insulation on all four doors. All work was done under warranty with no cost to me.

Usually on the driver door jamb there is a black sticker with the vin #, date, paint code, barcode, etc... it won't give you the exact date but it will give you the month and year it was made.. example = 9/16.....usually located at the top right corner of the sticker
