Differential service on C450
Just picked up my new C450 a few days ago. Love it so far. So much better looking than the A4 I was considering. Unfortunately the dealer had to get the car from another dealer, and it arrived without the manuals. So until they send them I've had to rely on the on-line manual.
I understand there is a necessary differential service/oil change at 1800 mi.. The dealer is an hour away from me. Does this need to be done by a MB dealer, or can any service station do this.

Your delaer witll be able to clarify this for you..
Warranty and support will be provided by them so don't worry about it.
IF you want to change the oil (and I understand that you may) irrespective of factory minimum requirments then you absolutely can and its neither very difficult or expensive.
Its no different from changing the engine oil mid inteval ... not required, will make no difference to warranty, will likely make no difference to perfomace, but you can because you want to...
your call...
Oh and of course if any fuids are changed away from MB spec grade and lead to a failure then in fact it is possible to add risk to warranty rather than to have improved the care of the vehicle.. only mention it becaus eit can and has happened..
All the best, enjoy the new car..

you only need differential service for cars with a limited slip differential, such as the c63 or e63. fairly certain the C450 just has an open diff.
