Gear box issue?
Hi Guys
recently I've noticed when in D1 and on a hill my car rolls back is this normal?? im sure its only been happening a week or so.
Also if say for example im on a hill and ive stopped the car with the foot brake, if i then take my foot of the brake, the car would either creep forward or stay still, but now as soon as i move the steering it rolls back, surely this is not right! Can anyone confirm?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the hill assist suppose to hold the car from rolling back and that should auto apply itself. Also I use the brake hold feature all the time once stopped give the brake an additional pump and the brake hold engages and releases the moment u hit the gas
Also could be a setting u might have turned off guess I haven't looked but I assumed it's on all the time and applies when needed

Try doing it without turning the steering wheel;
1./ On hill, stop, pump to "hold" and then foot off brake, a moment later go..
2./ Repeat but without the brake pump to engage hold, again no steering input.
If it roles back in either scenario then something is not correct, and worth confirming with the dealer.
Mine remains statis or creeps forward when not in hold, and simply stays put when in hold....
OF COURSE COVER THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH THE LEFT FOOT WHEN DOING SO AND CHECK MIRRORS ETC... (disclaimer to faciliate the truly stupid in the world..)
As an aside, it no issue for me as left foot braking makes this irrelevent..
But i understand some deem their left foot redundant in an auto..
