Pressurized Fuel tank C350e

Does anyone know if this really happens 15 minutes to depressurize the fuel tank.

Any benefit from this.

Yes. I'm getting mine delivered friday. Didn't know about this and why it needs so much time.

I don't know what kind of C350e you are getting but mine (a year old now) does not have this. I definitely don't have to wait for anything.
I have to open the lid by hand (just push the lid to open) and not with a button in the interior. The button that is shown is in my car used to open the rear door (station wagon).
It is weird that this is only for a hybrid. The petrol engine is a normal C250.
Maybe it is a kind of safety regulation in your country.
I am from the Netherlands by the way.

Regards,

Gerrit

Wow .. up to 15 minutes! That's huge. I wonder what the average/normal time is.

They should make it so that it has the same sound as teasing air out of a balloon - Pull up at the gas station, press the button and "Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooo" for 15 minutes! .. whilst you stand there looking at your wrist watch with an embarrassed look.

Found this on the internet:

Is new in the 2016 version it seems.
Luckily it states that the maximum time is 15 seconds during tests.
I guess it's a safety feature because the fuel tank is close to the high voltage system.

Hope you are happy with the new C350e. I love it

I have a C350e and the filler cap flap is just normal. I do not have to wait and there is no indication of any pressure releasing when I open the cap.

Mine wasn't delivered yet but i got to check it and it doesn't have this pressurized tank. Just a normal filler cap. Maybe this is just for some countries.
