Brake Pad Sensor

Hi, My W205 220 Sport plus has starting showing me a "Check Brake pads" warning, is there any way of telling if its the front or rear sensor?

Also what's the opinion on having the pads/disc replaced at a non certified dealer? My local dealer has quote £198 to replace the front pads and £450 for pads and discs and that's without seeing the car

By design your front pads wear out first, however if you want to check--- lift the front end turn the wheels to a position that you can view and inspect the pads insert a pad wear gauge--what do you get??

No! Depends on model/driving style...

In my C250 the same. Rear brake pads changed after 40000km. Front look OK (they still have about 1cm).
