Looking to buy 2016 C300

Hello! My last Mercedes was a 1972 220D. Paid all of $5,000 for it brand new. I've decided to come back to the fold and have an opportunity to buy a well equipped 2016 service loaner from a dealer with 6,500 miles.

Certified
4Matic
Iridium silver metallic 720
Rearview camera 460
Blind spot assist 550
Panorama sunroof 1,480
Heated steering wheel 250
18" 5 spoke alloy wheel N/C
Garmin map pilot 600
Rear deck spoiler 350
P02 Premium package 2,200
318 interior package 2,880
321 Sport package 2,175

Sticker price is $53,560. Ask is $43,000.

Any suggestions as to what a fair price for this car ought to be would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! The fact that it's certified is a good thing and from what I've researched it adds about $2,000-$3000 in value. Assuming that is true, we'll assume the price of a car is $40,000. Usually you can get a car at MSRP minus maybe $1,000 on the road (after a little bit on negotation), so you would be saving around $12,000 which is not bad. (However, keep in mind that the jump from 43k to 53k is only about $10,000)

I just recently bought a used 2016 C300 as well with 4k miles on it with similar options (no heated steering wheel, no 18" wheels, and no sport package, but had some extras like wood trim) for $34k. If I add the price of these options it would come out to around $4k extra so around $38k. Obviously the fact that you are buying it from a dealership adds on the addition $2k you would be paying (mine was not from a dealership but was in pretty darn new condition). I would say if you really like the condition of the car, maybe try and negotiate 1 or 2k off to make it a great deal. Other than that, the deal you posted seems fair in my opinion, but could be better.

One thing that most new owners don't realize quickly enough how big of a difference the lighting package makes on this car.

I hate that it doesn't come standard but the c class without the lighting package is not that attractive. Paying over 40k for a car you should at least get the led day time strip line and not the three led bulbs.

i know some people don't care about lights but the c class is a baby s class in terms of looks and with the lighting package it really does look attractive.

What exactly does the lighting package change/upgrade? Does it add HID adaptive lighting? As far as I know my C300 comes with the LED headlamps and the day lights still look really sexy (I've gotten a bunch of compliments on it). It looks great at night as well...

the adaptive lighting package is the most expensive one. I have that on my c and I love them.

but the just regular lighting package at least to me really adds a lot to the car. Just like you I love seeing the c classes day time running lights on the road compared to every other car which look like they have Christmas tree led lights on the front. Mercedes just looks clean.
