mbrace Connect - Not Worth the Cost at Any Price

Good thing Mercedes Benz gives it's customers 5 years of mbrace Connect for free, because it's not worth paying even a penny for.

Woke up this morning to a heavily frost covered car, so I grabbed my iPhone and attempted to log in to Mercedes me to remote start my vehicle...all I got was a message that read:

"We're sorry. We're unable to log you in to Mercedes me at this time. We're working to resolve the issue. Please try again later."

From day one, I've also been unable to stay "logged in" for the 120 days Mercedes me says I can...nor does touch ID work when logging in...so I have to type in my email address & long-a$$ PW required by Mercedes Benz.

success rate of remote starter = about 50% for me.

the problem is that the 50% of not working happens when it's cold as f-u-c-k outside.

i hate it every time my friend fires up his app on his lexus IS. it works every damn time.

also, locate vehicle takes forever to pin-point your car.

the only time i use mercedes me app is when entering address into navi, since trying to enter with the rotary knob in the car is a slow and painful process.

Works on my C450 too...only about 2/3 of the time.

Were you able to stay logged in on Mercedes me, and did your touch ID work?

I have had success 2/3 times also. The annoying part is that the car turns off as soon as you open the door. This makes absolutely no sense what so ever. Hope they make it more reliable and fix the issue with car turning off.

The only reason I keep this piece of **** "service" around is for those times when the remote transponder stops unlocking the doors, which is quite frequently.

I either have to pop off the door handle cover or, as I do almost weekly, login to Mercedes Me and unlock the car (takes about 2-3 minutes). Of course that only opens the door, then I have to pop off the pushbutton and insert my key like I'm driving a 1998 Civic.

Anyway, thats very specific to my case (and has NOT been fixed by MB btw since it is "not reproducible" ).

I have yet to find any other reason to have this "service" as it is all so unusable and there haven't been any App updates in... ever? I haven't seen a new one, maybe they gave up. The only app I sort of used once in a while was the Radio but even then its not worth the hassle so I just use my phone.

I'm trying to think really hard right now but can't seem to find anything good/useful to say about mbrace.

So I was finally able to get the remote start to work through mbrace during lunch hour, right before I turned off the car when I got to work this morning I set the rear window defroster switch, as well as the main front defroster switch to "ON" to see if the car would remember the settings...after almost 5 hours after I remote started the car, both functions were off.

What's the sense of having remote start if the windows at least don't come on?

Why on God's green earth would ANYONE actually pay for mbrace...or any of the other slow & useless options of mbrace?

My wife's new Jaguar XE's remote start is FAR superior to Mercedes Benz's mbrace. Not only does her front/rear/outside mirrors start defrosting after a remote start on her iPhone, but she is able to set the interior temperature AND her engine stays on when he goes out to the car and opens the door.

Mercedes...you REALLY need to get with the times. Even my old 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee's remote start system was superior. Not only would the Jeep's heated front & rear windshield/outside mirrors come on during a cold morning remote start, but the heated driver's seat & heated steering wheel would come on as well...and all that was a STANDARD...as in free with the vehicle!

My GF's Infiniti has remote start, and works flawlessly...and stays on after you get in the car. You just have to do a sequence of pressing the brake pedal and start/stop button.

Agree with you MB really needs to listen to their clients. BMW updated their app and now the car stays on when you unlock.

I've had a really good success rate with remote start. However, I use the m-brace app and not the Mercedes Me or Connect. The m-brace app seems to work flawlessly so far.

Just submitted cancelation for it.

if I didn't care about having an extra 30 bucks in my pocket, I would probably keep it.

But, that's like 3 double chicken chipotle bowls...

I was told by an mbrace rep that the "Mercedes me" app is the new replacement app for the old mbrace app.

I am using it for over a year now and though it was a bit glitchy in the beginning it's almost 100 now.
i use both interfaces. The web version to control all hybrid functions and the Android app for the rest. Works also good to share addresses with the car.
Would not want to miss it.
