Just watched a demo on the product. A lot of work but it does the trick. How much does it cost to have a shop shoot this?

around $2000 to $2500 CDN depending on the pearls, etc
color shifts like ZTA pearls can be upwards of $200 for just the colors.

In the US im sure there are more options out there.

Definitely needs to be done by a professional shop, not for the DIY

nope. this is my 2nd time doing this, and the first time it came off like vinyl

it's not at as thick as PPF (3m, xpel, etc) however there is about 8 to 10 layers of product, so its pretty thick in itself, so in theory i guess it acts as a PPF.

It also has a clearcoat so you can buff, wetsand, polish

How do they handle the transitions (door jambs, etc)? Just a clean line or do they shoot those areas too?

masking, like a paint job or blow in the jambs if you want but thats extra cost
