Mercedes Benz W205 C220cdi
w205 steering wheel electric problmes
I have Mercedes Benz W205 c220cdi 7G-Tronic. It has electrical problems with steering wheel. All buttons are faulty, so I can not change the gears (only P mode) and the car can not be moved. Also all fuses are ok.
Any idea what is the problem? Thanks

How old is it? I was at the launch of the W205 in Paris in 2014 so three years would make that covered until 2017? at least?
Perhaps you meant W204? I didn't know W205 came in the C220 Cdi guise? it was bluetec from W205 on-wards?

It is W205 c220d AMG (not cdi, my mistake). Car is second hand and the dealer said that the car is no longer under warranty. Maybe I should check at offcial MB reseller.
But...
yesterday the car checked (car diagnostic) by a mechanic who used to work in the official MB service and he was unable to identify fault. So I would like to know if anyone else is having similar experiences.

Neither have I read anywhere of such a fault.
I would be more concerned about the warranty ... Its 3 years unlimited KM.. so there shouldn't be any W205 out of warranty.

There are multiple control modules in the steering column. A fault condition in any one of them can cause problems, although it sounds like the electronic gear selector module or the servo that physically moves the linkage.
The car needs to go MB for a STAR diagnostic. That should tell you exactly where the issue is.

Hello, do not work the steering wheel cover, steering wheel buttons, wiper knob,gears knob,horn, all fuses is ok, I bought a new housing and without changes, but when disconnect housing on running engine engine stopped working. Please help what can be?
