Dinan Dinantronics W205 C300 Tuner
#26
Have been reading about the tunes on another thread and this one seems to be best one to get based on ease of install and price. I'm personally more interested in torque gains as I don't drive fast but would like faster off the line experience. But quick question to those with it installed how are mpgs looking? If mpgs are equal or even better for daily driveing then I would def think about getting it. The car has enough pep for me but who couldn't use more. Most posts are about gains of course.
I've been using the Dinan for a few months now and I would say there is a slight but noticeable gain in acceleration power.
I've played extensively with the live Bluetooth feature monitoring the boost pressure too. I would say even at moderate speeds like when accelerating on to the highway ramp there is a difference. According to the boost gauge the largest boost gains occur with higher RPMS like 5-6k rpm.
Not so much difference at street speeds like 30-45 mph. Mileage differences I don't really notice at all.
Basically I would say this is inline with my expectations for $300.

I was hoping to see the Dinan warranty along with the name. My C300 is just getting its new wrsit pins and cylinders installed at 25k miles so I'm telling myself that I'm waiting until the warranty is up before adding anything. I'll be watching to see what members think of this mod long term.

this mod has a 1 year warranty on it, parts only. No, not the standard 4yr/50k warranty Dinan is known for on their other upper end products. That's said, at a price of $299 retail why would they offer that . Its an in-expensive entry price for a nice gain , I would expect maybe down the road as they do more and more for our cars maybe they will have the warranty on other products

I have a 2016 and was able to connect this with no issues. Are you sure you are trying to disconnect the correct cable?

Correct. You need to slide it backwards (it might be a little tough, sometimes i use a flathead screwdrivers) then you push down in the part you slid out and pull it out.

Anyone have any long term results? Issues, CEL, blown turbo, tranny, warranty work issues, etc...? Just bought and am wondering if this is a bad idea to put in as I’ve seen it have problems in BMW🤢 forums. My car currently sits at 39k miles.

I've had the Dinan about 9 months or so now, no issues and the car does drive about better, a lot more torque, not so much top end power, just makes the car more drivable without really stressing things out much. Thats one thing I dont like about a full bore tune, it puts a lot more stress on components. This is just 40 lb ft torque and 40 hp. Not a real lot, but well worth the money.
