C450 Tachometer Stuck

C450 Tachometer Stuck
Shut off my car today and noticed the tachometer stuck at 3000rpm. I turned the car back on and the tach at idle is 3500-4000rpm.
I think something is obviously wrong with the tach needle. Have a dealer appointment tomorrow.
But damn it hasn't even been 3 weeks. Anyone else have this before?

Yes. It's happened twice on my c450. Noticed it only happened in hot weather however. Hasn't happened since. Told the dealer. They checked, found nothing. But at least I took a pic of it stuck..

I've had this twice on my C200 in hot weather. It doesn't stick fully but becomes jerky as it sticks and unsticks when moving. Left it as I don't want half the car ripped out to fix it.

Car has been at dealer for a while. They claim they don't have the software for the instrument cluster...
They say Mercedes Benz won't send it until next month and the service advisor says I can keep the loaner until next month whenever they get it.
LOL? Is this a joke? The service advisor Paul at Mercedes Benz of Boston is horrible at updating me too. Claims the car will be ready by end of day and makes me go all the way there then says car isn't ready.
Im taking the car back with the defective instrument cluster. Freaking 2 weeks of ownership and already 1 week back in the service shop.

I've been back to the dealer. The service advisor said they are waiting to hear back from MB Head Office in Melbourne. They are not sure if there is a software update or the cluster needs changing. The issue may need to be referred back to MB Germany as they have no log of another car in Australia with the same issue. Nice to know i am the first in Australia lol.
if anyone in Australia with the same issue please advise as well.

any updates on this? Currently facing the same problem too on my 2016 C300 and I’m afraid it might be more than just instrument cluster/software issue

The dealer fixed the problem by changing the actual part. Insist on having this done. I took many videos and pictures to show the problem for a few days. Do the same as proof.
