Aux audio Input
If you've got hi res FLAC (96/192/256 at 24 Bit) on a portable device like an Astel/Kern, you're out of luck. No aux in and the BT can't handle the high bitrate stuff.
is there a way to connect iphone to usb and get direct control?
currently, when i connect iphone to usb it only lets me play music ACTUALLY stored on the iphone.
i only have pictures on my phone. i do not like to load music into it nor videos.
i usually stream spotify, pandora and netflix.
currently i do this via bluetooth, but as you know bluetooth compresses the music so it never sounds good. it just sounds acceptable.
idealy i would like to connect the device directly to usb port, and then use the iphone freely to choose whatever source i like (spotify, pandora, etc).
But...
If you use COMAND to do anything other than control volume or skip tracks the phone will revert back to the native music player. So you have to do that stuff on the phone itself.
I use a hard mount for the phone that puts it in easy view and reach (and charges it) for that reason.

no wonder, everytime i connect it, it tells me there are no local files (on the command screen) and becomes unresponsive with no options.
i'm going to give this a go.
anything free as far as music on the itunes store? anyone know? dang i don't feel like spending $1.29 a track.....lol
as far as holder, i use pro-clip. it was dumb expensive at $75, but the quality is top notch. i just wish they would make one for the driver side.
i can barelly read my phone's screen since it sits on the passenger side.
