I can't believe we're having this conversation. You "waffle knit microfiber cloth" people are like religious people. Just can't stand that people don't do what you do. I'm not trying to make you use newspaper, so why do you guys have such a hard on for this micro waffle cloth crap?

Oh and FYI, I don't get a newspaper delivered either since I'm pretty sure no one has in the last decade (way to sound like an extra huge douche on that one btw), but my mailman loves to stuff newspaper adds in my mailbox all day long. So my final thought for you: Think outside of the box.

Agreed. Good microfiber holds more liquid, is lint-free, and will not cause scratches. Newspaper falls apart when wet, is not lint free, and it doesn't have the electrostatic charge that microfiber does which causes dirt to be lifted up from the surface, instead of just dragged across it. To prove this, try wiping the brake dust from your wheels using a dry cloth or paper...then use microfiber...and see which works better.

True. I have used newspaper and find that while it does work, the paper falls apart when wet and requires additional cleaning. I currently am using a very fine microfiber cloth, which is at least as effective and much cleaner to use.

This is not rocket science ... use what works for you.

One big tip is to never use a cloth that has had fabric softener applied to it. If you use fabric softener buy new cloths and never use fabric softener on them. The softener leaves a layer of petro-chemical crap that attracts everything and will almost instantly leave a smeared window look after drying.

Why do you have brake dust on the inside of your windshield? This is about cleaning just a bit of haze on the windows, not heavy dirt or brake dust.

Man you guys take this stuff serious.

Why do you have problems with comprehension at times? Could you not decipher my brake dust challenge was an example to show microfibers electrostatic charge?

Microfiber is superior to newspaper when cleaning glass, or any other surface...simple as that.

Obviously.

What I am saying is, why do you need that much cleaning capability on the inside of your windshield? It's completely obvious that microfiber is far and beyond superior to pretty much any cloth, let alone newspaper, but I just don't see why it's needed in this case. How dirty is the glass inside your car? Mine only ever has a bit of a haze on it so it just needs a quick wipe with ANYTHING that doesn't leave streaks or remnants; Hence why newspaper is a great option. Use it and toss it. DONE. No need for washing a towel.

My comprehension is just fine but looks as though yours could use some work

I can't believe I'm even answering this question...because microfiber will do a better job, and do it more quickly.

How dirty is the glass inside your car? Mine only ever has a bit of a haze on it so it just needs a quick wipe with ANYTHING that doesn't leave streaks or remnants; Hence why newspaper is a great option. Use it and toss it. DONE. No need for washing a towel.
In my experience, I've found microfiber does a better job than paper when removing the stubborn film from inside a car's windshield...I can even use it dry and not even have to deal with a glass cleaner, required if you use newspaper. Microfiber doesn't just smear the film around like paper does...thus requiring less work on my part.

My comprehension is just fine but looks as though yours could use some work
I don't see how, you're the one insisting on the use of an inferior product...but whatever.

It's hilarious how you just won't give it up.

I'm going to take a picture of me using newspaper on my glass and PM it to you so you have nightmares for the rest of your life

Just be sure to be wearing clothing in the picture...or you'd be right about the nightmares.

Thanks! Many have found it useful when determining what options to get when purchasing their C450.

See, due to your once again, lack of comprehension, I knew you'd say that.

But the difference is I don't care what you use. I never made claims that one or the other is superior. I even admitted to you that microfiber is the superior medium. I'm just saying newspaper is perfectly fine. But you can't stop with your whole "If you don't use microfiber waffle **** pattern triple awesome weave, then you're doing it wrong" argument.

So yes, tis hilarious.

Edit- damn this forum even sensors "c.o.c.k."? WTF!

I have the same. It's a wand about 2 ft long with a microfiber pad on the end. Works great. I got mine on Groupon

The best or nothing
Buy a special glass cleaning microfiber with diamond pattern, it works much better than the regular one. I use them inside & outside plus headlights.

I too have a couple of these, they work well overall, but not great. Good when you are in a pinch. Like at nite when you suddenly notice its time to clean the window.

Back to the main issue, I am SO GLAD to see I am not the only one dealing with this problem. Its normal to have a haze form over a few days time, but in my case its thick and heaver DAILY! I live in South Florida so I thought maybe the heat was playing a part in it but I even purchased a factory cover for the interior and it fits great! But if anything the haze seems worse since I started using it a few months ago.

I have tried EVERY kind of cleaner and wiping combo out there and it turns out the best thing for me is the handy towels and soap suds from my local car wash! Interestingly all the other things I tried always left a haze that I had to instantly turn around and buff off with another towel! But if I soak one of the towels at the car wash with accumulated soap suds say in the trunk area etc and use that to clean and then take a dry cloth to dry the glass comes out flawless and I don't have to go back and re-buff the glass. But without fail the next morning I will come out to my car and the haze monster has returned!

This is my second E350, my first was an '08 and had a similar issue but it was clearly tied to the AC. If I used it the day before then I'd usually see some build up on the glass the next day, but nothing like what I am dealing with now.

After seeing the "breathing" thing I am wondering if my windshield screen could indeed be the culprit. I will have to remember to not install it one day and see if I notice a difference the next morning.

I guess I am the only one who applies windshield cleaner to the entire inside of the windshield followed by a small squeegee run across the window. For extra credit, do this while outside with sunlight coming directly in. That way you can see that the result is perfect.

Good window cleaning is a process, not a product per se. I use Invisible Glass and paper towels and it always takes two passes for a good result. The first pass is to get the windshield good and wet and then wipe as clear as you can with paper towels. Then you follow with another round of dry paper towels (press/scrub HARD) to remove the remains of the "haze". It's a PITA but it always works if I do it this way. Single pass, is haze and smudge city....

I am a proponent of newspaper which you don't see anymore. But I have a box of inkless packing paper that I have been dragging around through many moves. Works like a charm. 40 years ago when Hyundai first sold their cars here, one big problem they had was the formaldehyde they used in their interior plastics leeched into the cabin air and settled on the glass. Worse than nicotine from cigarettes. Amazon sells this small amount but you can of course get more.
