Bluetooth Issues
Hello all,
I am getting really desperate as my C class (W205) with audio 20 cd, won´t play/stream any music from my phone.
The phone is a One plus three with Android 7.0 version and works flawlessly with all the cars, except mine....
The phone connects via bluetooth with the car no problem, I can receive and make calls but when I try to play any music from google play/spotify or from phone storage directly no sound comes out.
The phone is playing the song but no sound comes out of speakers.
I don´t really know what else to try, (cleared cache/reboot) please help.
Thanks
Xavi

There are two different connections you can make. Telephone or Bluetooth audio. My guess is you only connected telephone. To connect audio, click the media button twice until you see the spinning icons (USB 1, USB 2, CD, Bluetooth Audio) choose Bluetooth audio then with the knob slide down to see the menu. Go to options -> devices -> connect device and connect it to your phone through there as well (I'm going off of memory so it might be different) but then audio should start playing

Yes you do really rather have to choose the input source. Once connected turn the phone volume to max and use boost in bluetooth audio device option menu to raise volume even further.

Thanks for your messages and support, I just been trying all those but still nothing....
The weird thing is that when trying to connect BT audio device I don't get neither success message or failure message, system just goes back to BT audio main screen.
I was wondering if perhaps audio 20 firmware version could be the issue? Any ideas how to check it or upgrade it?
Thanks
Xavi

I'm happy with the repairs, they threw a new wheel on too after they claimed they did and tried to trick me and GEICO out of it, persistence is key!
Now I just have an unexplained whistle from right in front of the instrument cluster near the windshield at highway speeds, I'll get it looked at during next service, otherwise all is well. Thanks!

Guys, got an update !!
I am pretty sure it has something to do with A2DP , as I got some apps that change the output to mono and although the sound quality is not good, there is sound....
So, I think im on the right path... If anyone has any suggestion on how to get the car to use A2DP pls let me know.
Thanks

A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile) is the default protocol for any and all BT audio devices, so the car already has it. I'm wondering whether your Android requires something in its own settings to have it output in joint stereo mode.

When you have no sounds, hit volume up on your phone, that should get sound into your system via A2DP. I think I get this 1/5 connections.
I tried 2 different Android phones already and both are 6.0. Both have the same issues with disconnecting and reconnecting.
I used to tolerate it since it's broken audio and reset pretty quick but I started to have Android auto set to autostart but every disconnect/reconnect restarts Android auto. Annoying as hell.

That's a Mercedes feature called STFU-Matic. (Sensory Telephonic Feedback Utilization). Acoustic sensors in the car monitor calls for elevated stress levels on the part of the driver. If the stress threshold is reached, STFU-Matic reduces driver stress by disconnecting the call.
The threshold can be set by the driver Vehicle>Settings>STFU. The highest threshold setting is "GIRLFRIEND". For greater sensitivity, choose "BOSS" or, for extreme sensitivity "MOTHER IN LAW".

Any fixes? Is it caused by software updates on iPhone?

Same exact problem. Must be iphone software bug, because my bluetooth headphones disconnect with my phone just as often as my car does

I see it too but I'm not using BT streaming audio, just the phone. No issues as far as the phone working, no dropped calls. I'm direct from the phone to COMAND via Lightning for audio. Sounds better too.

I had a different problem. My Bluetooth in the Audio20 would just disappear. You couldn't enable it again. I had to reset the unit to get it back. It happened several times so today I got a software update (from 2015 to 2016 model). We'll see how it goes.
At least it solved the issue I had with my iPod Touch. I'm using it on USB and each time I started the car I had to disconnect it and reconnect it again to get it to work. Now it starts automatically when I start the car.

Same issue on a W213 from 2017 and Audio 20 with Honor 9 here.
The car shows that it is playing the song the honor hons not play anymore the sound but you can hear only very shortly 1s the audio then a message pops up on the honor if you want to allow access to mesaages? When receiving that message on honor the audio stops.
Tried the mono without success.
Is there an update available on Audio 20 and Bluetooth that fixes this issue?

Yes maybe it was due to an update. Was riding in my mothers car this weekend and noticed her COMAND was doing it too.
