C300 Rear Passenger Suspension Issue, Dealer refuses to fix !
Hi everyone,
I have a 2016 C300 4matic with less than 3000 miles on it (started my lease three months ago).
It started having a loud thumping noise on the rear passenger side whenever I hit an uneven road or go over speed bumps or anything that makes the car go up and down.
Dealer took the car for two weeks and replaced both rear shocks and struts. It did not fix the problem.
Now the dealer is telling me it's un unknown issue and they cannot do anything about it. I had to call MBUSA customer support and they told me they are going to send a road engineer to look at the car by next week.
I am currently driving a car with an "unknown suspension noise" (as it states in the paperwork the dealer gave me, which I can attach to this thread) and I don't know what to do.
Do I have any options here besides waiting ?

It doesn't sound like they're outright refusing to fix it but it seems like they simply don't have the expertise to diagnose your problem. If mbusa is sending a road engineer then I think that's your best option. If the road engineer can't figure it out then I don't think there's anything else you can do other than going to a different dealer until it's figured out or independent garage. If you go to an independent garage I doubt mercedes will reimburse you without a long fight.
The key here is documentation. If they're admitting there's a noise and they can't fix it then you have more leverage to argue your vehicle is defective and unable to be fixed under warranty (if it were to come to that).

Thank you guys, I am keeping documentation currently, hopefully this field engineer actually figures out if it's fixable or if I ended up with a lemon.
I just needed to make sure there aren't steps i'm suppose to take that I just lacked in knowledge about.

I think you're taking the right steps. I don't really know much else you can do for now. Based on what you have I don't believe it's enough to declare your vehicle a lemon but you may want to read up on your state's lemon laws.

People get too spring loaded to the "lemon" point. IMHO of course
Keep all correspondence and give them a chance to fix it.
