C450 Transmission
Hi Everyone,
Newbie here, just joined hoping to find some answers.
I'm the unlucky owner of a C450 AMG. I've had the car for more than a year now and I really regret ever buying it. When the car had only 7000 KMs I noticed a rough jerk while on 2nd gear. Took it to the dealer for inspection and after few weeks they come back saying they had to change the torque converter and now it's sorted. Few months later the problem comes back with the 2nd and 4th gear this time, and the front left window doesn't work. Dealer kept it for few weeks and finally came back saying an engineer from AMG had to connect to the car remotely and adjust the transmission software. Been couple of months since then and the problem resurfaced with the 4th gear and the window. Last week the front front tyre was flat, I check the tyre and realize it's completely worn out, to the point that the metal spikes on the inner side were visible.
The local dealer seems useless and every time I send an email to MB directly through their global website they refer me back to the local dealer. I'm wondering if anyone else had who owns the car has run into the same issues? Also any ideas on what can I do to fix all of this?
Thanks

Sorry to hear about your car problems...I consider myself a lucky owner of a C450.
I had the same rough shift in 2nd gear, took it back to the dealership, they did a transmission reset and an "adaptive drive", and my tranny has been shifting smoothly since.
As for the tire issues, I take it you have the 19" performance tires...and they wear fast...like it or not. Others have replaced their stock run flats with regular performance tires with great success.
As for the window issues, that's a new one. I haven't had any issues with my C450 windows, and I haven't heard of any on this site either...just wind noise and acoustic window replacements.
My advice is to keep bringing the vehicle back to the dealership until it's fixed, and if necessary, keep contacting Mercedes Benz customer service and let them know what's happening. Remember, you don't have to keep going back to the same Mercedes dealership.

Can you elaborate further on this? It would be great to get more details on this for future reference. Thank you.

I'm just asking if you can elaborate on the issue for future reference and the good of the community. What if later on down the road when this happens to someone and they search this thread but can't contact you because you don't post anymore?
It would just be nice to know what the issue it, ya know what I mean?

It may not be a problem exclusive to the C450, and a C300 owner can't go to the AMG Lounge. Why not share this to the whole C class community instead of being so mysterious about it??

Well I wish someone could sort out the crappy 7g+ d1/2/3 shifting in my C200 because that will cause me to return mine if I can't...

I strongly suspect Mercedes U.S. And Germany very well understand the issue.

I've replied to your pm. I have no information on the tire or window. I can put you in touch with another who had the fourth gear issue as well, and is in Canada trying to get a fix. I suspect coordinated efforts would help each.

I remember the day I picked my 450 up I was getting a hard 4th gear shift. I can't for the life of me remember if it was up or down shifting as it was three months ago, but it was under medium/low load and 4th gear was involved. But It's been smooth ever since. I hope it stays that way *knocks on wood*
