The 17" wheel assembly and the 19" wheel assembly are the same overall size. You're just swapping rim diameter for tire sidewall height. If it looks high on 17" it'll look high on 18 and 19". Drop on your car looks great BTW.

this makes sense. So 19s will work fine if I also get the car lowered? how much does it cost to lower it generally?

On AirMatic about $350 for a set of links and you can do it in your driveway in a half hour.

On steel you need to buy and have installed a replacement set of springs.

For lowering springs, it's around $700 (with labour)

I went for a whole suspension kit (Bilstein B12) which costs me around $1650 (with shipping from Germany and labour)

What are your rim and tire size specs?

The white car in that pic looks high because it is. It's a Euro spec Lux version, which has the tallest steel suspension available for a 205. The reason to stay away from the 17 is that there's just way too much sidewall. 18 looks just a little chunky but rides so much better than a 19 it might be worth the trade off especially since the drop will stiffen the ride a bit.

My car had opted 485 Comfort Suspension. It's probably the one with the tallest ride height.

There is one example in other thread regarding comfort suspension ride height with larger wheels:

Apparently quite a few dealers made errors when inputting the sports package into the order system. There were at least 4 cars with Sport/485 on Cars.com.

Mazda 3
oem wheels

I'd check this site:
http://www.blackburnwheels.com/

I've gotten OEM wheels from them for my current car (a Mazda, mind you, but they have a huge inventory and it's really easy to navigate by your particular model).

That or try ebay, but then you just need to carefully vet the seller before you make a bid. I've heard of people getting bad parts that weren't usable.

A vendor like Blackburn can't keep in inventory enough "clean" take off sets to resell, so they mainly buy damaged rims individually and refurbish them. Sometimes it's just curb rash and cosmetic stuff. Sometimes they need to weld a crack. Unfortunately, the refinishing process completely hides any of the repairs. I've used refurbs extensively and they're a mixed bag. The finishes tend to not hold up. It's hard to get clear coat in all the nooks and crannies so they collect dirt in those areas.

My best luck was when I bought a set of curb rashed take offs from a buddy of mine and sent them off for refurb. At least I knew the condition beforehand.

Sometimes you can find a clean set of unrefurbished take offs on EBay but expect to pay through the nose. My suggestion is a set of reps from an established Ebay vendor, like Aspec or OEM Wheels Plus. Anyone with 20k + transactions and a decent feedback score. You'll spend around $800 and get brand new wheels.
