Did you remove all the other bolts and the shield doesn't drop down?
Took 9 bolts out the front shield in total, and it moves about an inch forward into the lower spoiler recess .... but the clamp holds it captive and I can't remove it.
When i took mine out i had to remove the second metalic shield in order to take out the plastic shield.Maybe it will be better if you do the same.
I lost more time trying to cut corners and trying to push in the plastic shield without droping the metal shield first. In the end i removed both.
Must be a year/model thing as I don't have a metal shield. I have what's on the w205 how to remove splash shield layout.
I have a ribbed front plastic shield and then a mid car positioned plastic shield, but the clamp in my pictures hold both in place. I could wrestle the front shield out past the mid position shield if the clamp could be removed.
I don't have access to an EPC ... anyone got a diagram of that part would be helpful to see if it's sprung loaded or just bolted in behind a plastic cap or something.
I did mine a year ago at night by myself; not sure my memory still correct or not.
If I recall correctly, that "clamp" is just let the shield slides in place properly. Once all the bolts on the front and mid shield are removed, you just need to slide the front shield forward to drop it. I guess you didn't slide it forward enough to drop it.
Hope it helps!

I could try again this weekend with a bit more force ... did you disconnect your battery before removing the plug and bumper?
