I cannot find any indication of stereo volume. At any point, I wouldn't know what volume I'm at other than hearing with my ears.

Is it just me missing to see the volume indication?

 

It's not just you. I think a momentary volume indication should be provided.

Of course, I also think the odometer should be displayed all the time but what do I know!

I can agree that a temporary volume indicator would be handy, though I have been living without it for 17 months now and not really missed it.

I do not really see the need for a permanent odometer. Stepping out of the car gives me a great view on the odometer. Basically the only time I might really need it.

By nature people like to hang on to things they have been used to from the past. The odometer was simply there because it was a physical thing. And yes we need it's value now and then. But I don't see any use for it while driving.

 

I've got a bigger gripe with the radio volume. I tend to blast music before I get out of my car. The volume stays at the same level when you restart the car. WTF. My VW had an option to set the startup volume.

i could care less about a volume display, I have ears. However getting into the car for loud music to suddenly blurt out isn't doing anything for my blood pressure. My BMW lowers the volume on each new start.

 

What do you guys mean by permanent odometer? Isn't it permanently displayed when you select "Trip" in the menu?

 

if you have to go to a menu to display it, it's not permanent.

 

Yes, but I don't drive with "Trip" selected. It's a first world problem, not the end of the world.

Same here. I have COMAND. Maybe there is a difference with the Audio 20 system.

 

I have COMAND and it goes right to the last volume I had it at usually loud! a preset startup volume would be great

 

I have the Burmeister system and COMMAND and it reverts back to the last volume on startup. My VW has an option in the settings menu to set startup volume.

I have 2016 North America version with burmeister

 

The A-class has recently recieved a volume indicator (similar to W213) when you change volume.

Maybe there will be an update on this for C-class aswell.

 

Volume indicator = ears.

 

i would like to have a temporary volume indicator too just like in new BMWs

 

Or in 5 year old Volvos or 10 year old Acuras

 

How does a volume indicator help you know how loud the system is? Surely you set the volume to a comfortable level to you?

 

My biggest gripe is that I don't get a list of the songs on my iPhone when I'm connected with Bluetooth. I have to keep skipping to a song that I want. I have Nav.

 

Same way it works on your TV.....I like the volume level set to "X". Having the indicator lets me turn the knob exactly to "X" .

 

Did this ever get fixed??
