Not sure if this has been asked before. Maybe I'm being stupid but should the 9g tronic auto transmission only have 7 forward gears? I expected it would have 9 but I got my 2017 c250d amg line 2 weeks ago, supposedly with the 9g tronic but it only has 7 gears!

Ah....... thought so. I'm sure a 2017 c250d should have 9g shouldn't it? Thats what it's advertised as on MB website.

Thanks, it's sorted now though. Because of this and another number of issues, the dealer is ordering a new car for me from the factory and swapping it for mine when it arrives is july/august. Good result!

Actually it seems like someone tried to sell you a MY16 car which has just been registered as 17. MY16 had 2 variants for the 250d - old vehicles with 7g and newer with 9g. I've had both, and went through the same 'surprise'.

Thats exactly what happened. It's cost them though as they've had to order me a new one and keep this one until it arrives!

Glad you got it sorted. Did the car not have a window sticker displaying the model year? Say what you will about US auto regulations, but not disclosing that info here that would have been a six-figure fine to the dealer and potential jail time.

I don't think it has. I ordered the car on 1st Jan 2017, turned out it was built in november 2016! Had the piano gloss black centre console too, I ordered the open pore ash and they couldn't change it so they had no choice but to order a new one.
