Right. USA is one of the few countries where Mercedes is considered a pure luxury brand. In most of the world they're a full line manufacturer of all kinds of cars and utility vehicles, passenger and commercial. In the full C line the 300 is in the middle.

Yup, C180, C200t and d, C220d, C250t and d, C300, C350Te, C400, C450/43 and C63. All available as estates and 4matic on selected models. C43 are rarely sold because at that price class most also can afford C63, which is a car that starts off at $150.000. Not what you would call a volume car.

They are? Any word on when it will be released? I tested a C300 coupe and liked the chassis but felt it was a little underpowered for such a heavy car.

The 400 would be the perfect non-performance engine for the C. The coupe is a good 300 pounds heavier than the sedan, and it needs a little more pep off the line—but I was also in some heavy traffic and couldn't push it.
