As I can see on some posted photos - some C-classes has 1 (mono) or 2 (stereo?) cameras at windshield. What is the difference in options?

If you have the safety package with Distronic (Adaptive cruise control) it has the stereo camera. It uses it to determine the distance of objects additional to the radar.
Since the cameras are about 130mm apart (twice that of a human) it can see depth better than us.
Not sure it's also required for the lane assist but i have both so i can't determine that.

 

I have two cameras, I have ILS and traffic sign assist

 

A colleague of mine has ILS but no traffic sign assist and no Distronic. He has only one camera.

Distronic don't use a camera, but a radar in the grill. I would guess one camera for lane assist and one for light assist.

Off course I could be wrong, the radar in the grill I know for sure is used with Distronic, or it hadn't been there. But if it measures more than distance, that I don't know. It could use the camera to visualize what it is and the radar for distance. I also know the cameras has multiple tasks. I don't know if mine will have dual. It won't have any of the assist systems except from distronic Plus and ILS, which also does a lot more than just on/off highbeam and cornering.

 

Frankly as long as everything works I don't care how.

 

1 camera - adaptive high beam assist or ILS. You'll have to look carefully in the headlamp module to see whether there's 1 projector + 1 reflector (AHA), or 2 projectors (ILS).

2 cameras - at least Lane Tracking Package fitted. If there's 2 cameras with a reflective Mercedes logo on the grille, then it's Driving Assistance Package Plus (reflective logo has Distronic Plus radar behind it).

In the image I attached here, it has Driving Assistance Package Plus, but not ILS (notice that there's only one projector in each headlamp module. Outer projector and inner reflector).

 

ILS but no LTP/DAP+ (Malaysian spec C300). Note the two projectors in the headlamp module.

Stereo Cameras usually when Steering Assist is present -

 

i have one camera only, and I have ILS, nothing else.

 

So I have stereo cameras and no ILS, no distronic plus, no active lane keep assist.... Still wondering why they installed the 2 cameras when I only have active blind spot assist ..

 

How do I get code?
