Adding subwoofer to burmester

Yeah, my shop added one (along with a bunch of other stuff). You'd pull speaker level signal from the factory amp in the trunk tapping into the output leads to the Frontbass speakers. Power unfortunately has to come directly from the battery in the *front* unless your amp doesn't draw much. You'll need a sub amp that accepts speaker-level (powered) inputs.

Im actually in the process of doing it. I was at the shop this thursday trying to get this done and the installer found the right speaker wires to tap off of but it wouldnt work so they are gona tap off of the factory amp tomorrow and see. Here is the sub im using to save the trunk space

That enclosure requires a separate sub amp. The signal from the factory amp alone won't be enough. Hooking it up directly will drop the impedance and might damage the amp.

The speaker wire the installer tapped off of didnt but once they tap the wire off of the amp, it should
I do have a separate amp. They tapped a speaker wire on the passenger rear door area but it didnt work so theyre gona go for another wire off of the factory amp tomorrow
They should be pulling signal from the high side of the factory amp and routing it to a new sub amp. What was it they first tried?

So i finally got everything done. A very long day actually.. got the sub and amp done by tapping the sub wire off of the amp inside the trunk. Got 25% tint all the way around with 20% on the pano roof and 5% strip on the windshield. And then i got my front and rear dash cam hard wired.

Anyone have any pics of their subs? I'd like to get a bit more bass extension, but don't want to compromise trunk space. (Mike, I've seen yours from your excellent write-up).

Have a look at the Infinity BassLink. It's a compact self powered sub with a 10" driver and a 10" passive radiator. It can be oriented horizontally or vertically with a very small footprint. It has available high level inputs and auto sensing power-on (no need to run a remote power sensing lead from the factory amp which is good because the factory amp doesn't have one).
Plenty of power (I had one in each of my W220 S Classes) but still efficient enough to be powered by the existing 12v in the trunk (tap the factory amp's power lead) so you're not running cable back thru the cabin from the battery.

Yeah, unfortunately recreating bass frequencies involves moving around a lot of air. It's hard to find a sub worth anything that also has a really small enclosure. My sub takes up about 6" of depth at the rear of the trunk which leaves a lot of trunk available, but it eliminates the pass-thru to the rear seat.

I am also really looking into adding a sub to my burmester system, its so good with midrange and high, but the bass is just not there.
It would be amazing if someone can giving us the wiring diagram/installation pictures for the burmester amp in the trunk. I'm sure this is the only think holding most of us back from installing it.
I've found the attached wiring diagram, but I cannot make any sense of it (I cant even find this connector on the amp LOL)
