Side mirrors auto dimming sensor?

Hi, where's the side mirrors automatic dimming sensor? I was sure it was part of the rear view mirror but apparently it's not... can anyone confirm? I want to tint my rear window but if it's going to screw up my side mirror dimming, I won't. Thanks!

I don't know where the sensors are but the fact you can buy the car with tinted rear windows, there must be a proper fix for that.

Tinting the rear window does not screw up the auto dimming function.

It's in the side mirror I believe.. try a flashlight on it to see if it dims

I don't know where the sensors are, but I had my windows tinted pretty dark all around last week and can confirm that neither the rear nor side mirror dimming was affected. It all works as before at least on my C63.

Just to pile on, tinting any window will have no effect on the mirror or the sensor.
