Here's the YouTube video that I found that details the changes for the 2018 C300. At 4:42 is where he states that the Luxury Package will be discontinued for 2018 . . .

I've learned to accept that for Mercedes the C is a mass produced economy car (as is the BMW 3-4). They don't design or build them with the care they put into their premium products, like the S. Mainly because buyers at the $100k price point won't tolerate wheezing engines, interior rattles or a stiff ride.
Ideally a 205 would be every bit as good as a scaled down, less expensive 222 but unfortunately that's not the case. I like the C for what it is and I enjoy driving it but in my mind I don't think of it as a "real" Mercedes. I've actually owned a few "real" ones, and for my next car I'll probably be hunting down another.
For the same money, a CPO 221 S or 216 CL would give you a much better handle on what Mercedes is capable of when budget isn't an over riding priority.

Right, so there's no frame of reference. But the C has always been the "poor man's Benz", and the 205, while a massive improvement over the 204, didn't change that. The S/CL have always been Mercedes best work, because they're not as constrained by cost.
If you have the good fortune at some point to own one, you'll know immediately what I'm talking about.

The C has always been the "poor man's" Benz. But the 63 and now 43 are a mix between that and the performance side of what Benz "is capable of". And now with the new CLA/GLA classes, the C has started to lean toward the 'capable' category. I still think the (sorry, but I do) 300 and below are definition of "poor man's" cars, and I never considered a C class other than the 63 until I sat in (and more importantly, DROVE) a 450/43. What the 43/63 lack in S Class poshness, they make up for in amazing performance

It's "a" metaphor
I dunno what BMWs leather smells like, I had alcantara/fabric
Anyway, excited about the C that I am picking up. Although the 3 series looked more aggressive and was a very good car. Some minor issue but they where well taken care of by the dealer.
The mercedes I'm having, I have actually never driven it with that engine.

For the record, it is a metaphor.
Breathe deeper.
Oh, nothing here is transcribed.
Addendum: polar bear joke, as an allegory.
A guy walks into an Oslo bar and orders a drink. A few minutes later, a polar bear (remember, it is an allegory) walks in and sits down next to him. A perfectly formed, one foot tall man walks in behind the polar bear and sits down next to the bear, all the while cursing the bear in Norwegian and English, spitting in his drink and pulling his tail. After a few minutes, the first guy can no longer restrain his curiosity and asks the bear why he doesn't kill the little guy. The bear, with a look of resignation, says he is mine and nothing is to be done. The bear explains: a couple of years ago, he was walking down a beach and found an old brass lamp, which he promptly rubbed and out popped a genie, offering but one wish. The bear thought long and hard, but had an epiphany, saying, "I want a ***** like this.", gesturing one foot with his paws. The genie left the little man with him and disappeared.
The principle of tactical semantic ambiguity....

Things change, you should follow the news. The poor man's benz is now the CLA.
