Changing rims and adding illuminated star on leased c300?
I own a c300 2016 base model, after months of owning it I’m not too satisfied with the rims. Has anyone invested in amg rims, specifically 18 inch amg 5-poke wheels? Is it worth it? And where did you get yours?
Also, I’d like to add the bright illuminated star but I’m not too sure if I should rely on the ones form eBay. Has anyone bought them online and hooked them up by yourself? Thanks guys.

AMG rims will cost you a fortune. Sometimes someone will be selling a set of OEM take offs on EBay but they won't be cheap either.
Find a set of replica wheels on EBay that you like. Usually less than $800 for the full set. Several 18" options on there for the 205.
Look for wheels that fit the C Class (2008+) or the S Class or CL Class (2000+). They all share almost identical offsets and will all fit the W205.

Mercedes will sell ya one. Just get the VIN of a 205 that has the illumination and take that to your dealers parts dept. (or hunt down the part number directly). They'll order it for you. Or EBay.

I bet the cheap eBay ones are brighter. Anyway, it was cool when it first came out but it's more of a novelty/old news now.

I bought an illuminated star off of Amazon. I felt a lot more comfortable buying from Amazon than eBay. Cost me around $50 and it works perfectly. Had it for about 2 months now. Its a tad brighter than the OEM stars which I actually like. Took me about 30-40 mins to install it.

I spent the $125 I think it was for the OEM wiring harness off Ebay and I'm glad that I did. it came in a sealed plastic bag with the rubber grommet and all necessary parts. It's installed exactly how they do it on the production line so there was no worries about any potential 'Error Codes" popping up. Search the forum and you'll find a member who took excellent photos of how to install it from start to finish. Depending on how your Star is wired, mine came with just the bare ends which meant soldering the needed "plug end" which I bought off a local Foreign repair shop for $20 so that it would clip into the factory harness. Should I ever want to sell the car or have to take it to the Dealer, again which I'll never do because 'A' I love my car and 'B' they are just a glorified repair shop...again IMO...everything will look factory installed and the mechanic wont give it a second glance should they try to claim warranty violations.
The illuminated star in the post above, while it is as bright as mine, seems to be better quality. Mine has the solid black background and is showing small fisher cracks inside. Quite confident its cosmetic but if/when I get tired of it I'll change it out for one like his. $50 wont break my bank.
