I'd like to ask the group. If you were to take away all sentimental, historical, dealership experience, badge prestige sentiment alltogether. No emotions whatsoever. You are happy with this car?

Its not a bad car, just some issues I can't live with and rather trade it for bigger and better

So I traded up to my current 2016 C450 (getting a great deal was the deciding factor). Yes there's a few things that still bug me about my C450, and a few things I wish it had from the new C43 (9 sp tranny & performance exhaust), but not enough to make me want to get rid of my C450 after a year of ownership, especially since it's paid off.
I've thought about possibly getting a 2018 C43 next year, but it would have to be equipped EXACTLY how I would want it, and I would need to get at least 15% off MSRP. Either that or the new redesigned BMW 3 Series that comes out next year...

I love my car. I don't know how I lucked out so much, but I have no hard shifts, and no interior rattles. Only had one small issue with the car and the dealer picked up the car from my work and left me a loaner. I only used it to go get lunch as they had it fixed, washed, and delivered back to me before I clocked out for the day. Love this car!

I wish I was as lucky as you were. I'm assuming you bought your car brand new, sean?
I owned a brand new 350z back in 05 and had only two small issues; the drivers window not lowering when door opens and the CD player not ejecting. Other than that there were no more real issues(big or small) until after 120k+ miles. This was a 30K+ car from Nissan and it was the best car i have owned so far. I owned it until I bought the mercedes back in 2016.
After 1 year of ownership, I'm kind of shocked of how bad the experience has been with the mercedes. I bought this car used, but CPO which made no difference.
Here is a list of Gripes:
1. Broken door seal, that created creaks when the car accelerated.
2. Creaks from the pano roof
3. 2 Ambient lights on the outside door handles were a purplish color, another light was completely out.
4. There is a weird "engin sound" ticking noise when accelerating that was never addressed by mercedes, they claim its normal sound, but non of their loaners have this characteristics sound (weird).
5. The gas lid locking mechanism seem to be wearing out or maybe I'm not closing the thing properly.
6. The passenger headrest has a loose piece rattling inside of it, any bump will cause it to rattle.
7. Door seal wore out, and started to leave black marks on my pants. it has destroyed two Pairs of pants so far and I had to pay out of pocket to fix the issue.
Im so ready to get rid of this car I'm already looking at some X6's or an S-class. I'm just happy I owe less than what it is worth and ready to jump out of is car in 2018, if not this December.

What the hell is this thread? Like, I can understand if you don't like the car/brand for whatever reason, but why are you trying to influence others to feel the same way as you? You got issues, buddy. Weird, weird, issues.

Absolutely love the car, and love the service provided for when those things go wrong.
I am completely aware that service is dealer specific, however, it's a competitive market and ultimately there will be a dealer that provides decent service - you just have to look.
That being said, I find reasons to drive my car - DAILY.....
I work from home, so I really do have to find reasons... LOL!!!

I didn't say the "entire population" has issues. Just you.
And I understand that many owners have both transmission and interior rattle issues, so yes, I seem to be an anomaly in that regard for not experiencing those. But from what I've seen, many have had those issues corrected. Issues like those are to be expected from a brand new generation of a model. Kinks are to be expected and worked out throughout the run of the model's generation. Most everyone understands this. Hopefully now you do as well
