I found this that sounds like the answer, but just as a disclosure, this is coming from a 2015 CLA manual. I suggest cross referencing this with your car manual.
The automatic transmission has overheated.
Drive on carefully.
The automatic transmission is available again when the display
message goes out.
If the display message continues to be displayed:
Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, paying
attention to road and traffic conditions.
Secure the vehicle against rolling away ( page 160).
Wait until the automatic transmission has cooled down and the
display message has disappeared.

Thanks a lot for the reply.
Have cross-check the c180 (w205) in both the user and operator manuals. There is no such message.
Any idea where is the auxiliary battery in that model. Many thanks beforehand.

The same message popped up yesterday.
I kept the engine running for 10+ mins but the message didn't go away.
Is my battery dying?
Vehicle data displayed the following parameters when the ignition is off:
UB 12.2V
IB around -17.3A
BN alternate between 42 and 0
After driving for 20 mins
UB 14.8V
IB initially goes up to 100.0A but gradually goes down to 12.0A. If I kept the car running, it probably dipped even further
BN alternate between 53 and 0
The warning message didn't appear this time while driving.
I'm not sure IB is supposed to be below 50.0A when the ignition is on....
The only accessory I have is a dash cam (parking mode enabled) but I've had the dash cam for months now and it's properly wired.
Battery is almost 5 years old.

I have seen some crazy stuff on these new cars due to battery problems. But the right way would be to pull codes and see why the message is on.

I had this happen to me last week. It was also effecting the engine auto stop/start function. It is either two things a loose connection or like in my case, Mercedes had to swap out my battery.

Had the same errore message come up one time after I had the car parked for one month.
I decided to use a 2A charger to charge the battery and error has never come back.
If you want to learn more about this message, there is a good article online. You can learn more here.

Does it has anything to do with the charger and may I ask what kind of charger are you using?

I apologize for bringing up this old thread. I had a similar issue with my vehicle recently; it turns out that I had a discharged battery which is a common cause for this issue. Then you can jump to the conclusion that you had a defective voltage regulator on your alternator w\that is responsible for charging your car’s battery. I did a lot of searches on this issue and came across an in-depth article that may be worth reading. Search for "Mercedes-Benz Stop Vehicle Leave Engine Running on YOUCANIC" and you will see an article that goes over common causes and possible fixes. You can read about it yourself. I hope this information can assist someone else with a similar issue.

My start and stop still works, for what it’s worth.
Thanks
