C300 MBUSA Buyback
Hi All,
I thought I post it up here to get some advice before going forward.
long story short, My 2015 C300 Sports Package had a list of issues past 14-17 months ( mainly after 14k miles ) but recently after hitting 20k car had cracked pistons and bad tranny pump to oil pan seal leaking multiple times.
I have called MBUSA and told them about the issues and asked what will they do to fix it because I'm tired of taking the car to the dealership and having it there for weeks and without any loaners at times. MBUSA just called me back and told me after reviewing my car history it does qualify for a buyback and 3rd party will be calling me to calculate my refund.
my question is has anyone dealt with 3rd party appraiser and how do they evaluate my car value? the car is in pristine condition with 24k miles. what can I do if I do not like the appraised value of the car?
Thanks in Advance

With normal wear and tear you'll just be responsible for the mileage (I believe it's .25 a mile). They should reimburse you the original purchase price less the mileage offset. Around $6k if my numbers are correct. Any extra warranty you added is refundable (not the original manufacturer's warranty) but you'll need to apply for that separately. Sales tax should come back. Dealer fees and tag/title don't.

That's Great news if they only take off .25c for a mile. I thought they might go by BlueBook Value or just low ball me.

I know nothing about this kind of question but I was just curious, why do you need to go through a 3rd party appraiser.... If it qualifies for a buy back, I consider that similar to a lemon law where they would just let you pick equal value for a new car, no? Unless you were insistent on leaving the Mercedes brand then I could see it. Now with an appraiser, would you be trying to get the highest possible value (like the mike5215 opinion above) or would you be trying to get the lowest possible value to show that the car needs x amount of work and x amount of money to get it so it's better to get a new car

MBUSA is going through 3rd party vendor, not me. I did tell them I wanted to go for the buyback, not exchange or a new car.
The 3rd part vendor did just called me and told me pretty much what mike5215 said. they are going to give me all the money back minus the mileage

That's wonderful!!!! Tell them you only want to give them $.05 per mile cause the car was a piece of dog crap.. $.25 is too much for that junk box they sold you
