Thinking about a C-Class as a second car
Financials around a new 300C look unattractive... :\
We were thinking about a 2016 300C. I have seem some threads sharing the 2015's were better cars.
Any advice on mileage, things to watch out for welcome.
The 190 is rock solid, quiet and smooth in a traditional Mercedes way. The new C300 is none of those things. The interiors rattle, the engines rattle, the interior road noise levels are relatively high. The suspensions are stiffer.
They do handle well, are beautifully designed in and out, and are infinitely safer cars than the 190, and they showcase a lot of very cool tech.
Relative to the other offerings in the segment they're nice cars, but not in the same family as your 190. I wouldn't expect them to last as long either.
That said, I'd hunt down a C400, with the twin turbo V6. They were only built for one year (2015) but they, like all W205s, depreciate rapidly and there are some great deals out there.
