Mike after having my Palladium W204 there's a few waxes that can add incredible depth to it. If you want to go high end it would be Wolfgang Fuzion or Pinnacle Souveran will do an excellent job. If you want something a little less expensive the spray versions of Blackfire Midnight Sun and Wolfgang Spritz Sealant would do just as good.

Washing of Black 040 color

a famous quote from a detailing forum states something to the effect that he owns a silver car and a black car owns him.

but black cars are extremely prone to swirl marks and dirt stands out loudly but they shine when well maintained.

i have a Obsidian black (197) and have enjoyed maintaining it so far. quarterly polish and wax followed by careful weekly washes with spray wax keeps it shiny.

hope this helps with your decision.
