Closing in on deal for '15 C300. Wrist Pin issues?

Second update: Vehicle should be finished this week! Engine was placed back into car today but is still in pieces. Received a call saying that my rear control arms are "bent from previous owner towing the car improperly" Sounds strange that Carmax and the two dealers this car has been serviced at have never brought this up as an issue, especially when I had a rear tire replaced. Not covered by warranty due to "user damage," will seek out a second opinion when the car is back in my possession.

Four weeks after repair: Was greeted with this message. No coolant spillage around the tank or top hoses. It looked like it was coming from the lower portion of the radiator (probably the lower hose.) Waited four hours for a tow. In a GLA loaner. Haven't heard back yet!

Interesting enough, after the repair, mine runs better than when I originally bought it (when it actually runs lol)

Cracked pistons always happens on #1 cyl, front side. It's a pre-ignition issue due to poor fuel quality, it happens in the US when people don't run premium fuel. I've replaced a couple sets for that issue as well. Engineering knows about it, but they won't cut the power down and you can't force people to run good gas so it is what it is.

Wrist pins
So I just picked up a 15 c300 and joined the forums and found this thread. Haven't heard any noises other than a ticking in the morning when cold but it goes away when warm. Found my engine number and I am reading this right, it is before the issues?
Engine number is 274920 E0 024143.
Also the engine had 32000 when I bought it and I've put on about 1000 miles. Did have to take it in to the dealer for a power train program upgrade but that was the only recall or issue they found for my car.

Just picked up a CPO 2015 C300 Luxury in Toronto Canada that had 48,000kms...
I did some research here before buying the car and asked the dealership to check to ensure it was not affected by the popular wrist pin issue or asked if it had already been repaired.
It had not been repaired and assured me it was not affected, but my car sounds like this when cold.
Engine # 274920 E0 016710

Anything I should know about or look for when the car is returned?
This seems to be a less known about issue up in Canada.

I had my car repaired for wrist pin issue in March last year. After the repair there was a noticeable vibration and buzzing noise at certain rpm in three different gears. It was very difficult to demonstrate as well so I had to take it to the dealership and drive with the service advisor and technician several times. They couldn't identify the cause of this, but it got resolved after adding some kind of sound insulating tape between the engine and cabin. Not sure if it is related at all, but also had a creaking noise I believe when AC is turnedon. Also fixed by the dealership under warranty. Had several problems fixed when I got the car and now running fine for about year.

What part number did you guys have listed for your "Piston Repair Kit"?
Anyone in Canada?
Just got my car back today, will have to see when its cold if the noise is now gone.
1 274-037-03-00 TS PISTON
Is this a kit or an individual piston?

Mercedes C300 4matic - Sport
Hey everyone, I am leaving the BMW family. I found a beautiful C300 with 25k miles that is being shipped to Florida from Washington State. Should be here in 3 weeks.
Being a 2015 model, I am concerned about the wrist pins. It was mechanically inspected and does not have any of the noises associated with wrist pin issues. I was on vacation in Seattle when I found it so I heard and saw the car in person.
Anyway, I ran the vin on a few websites that show the delivery date(?) of April 29th, 2015, and I know that some engines before April 20th are affected. Is there a way a know for sure if this vehicle is affected by the wrist pin issue? The VIN is listed below if anyone wants to run it to see. Like I said, I'm a BMW guy so this is my first dive into the world of MB.

Sorry to tell you but your engine falls under a possible wrist pin issue

You were so wrong
You say all this very dramatic stuff, but there's little substance to it.
There was a manufacturing run of wrist pins that were not tight enough tolerance. When compared with pistons/rods that also can be on the high side of tolerance, you can get excessive clearances and a rattle noise until they warm up slightly. That's it. The repair kit is new complete piston/rod assemblies, rings and all.
It's not a "design" defect, as the design didn't change. The supplier (mercedes doesn't build the parts in house) was sending parts with just a little too much tolerance, it was found out and corrected after a certain point. Any engine before then, if it has the noise, will get a new piston kit. There is no engine wear, cylinder damage, etc. It's not a quick replacement but it's fairly simple, takes about 2 days for an experienced tech assuming the parts are available, little more on a 4-matic car as there's more in the way to remove the engine.
Don't try to scare people because you don't understand what's going on and are afraid.
