Inoperative Stop-start
JUst wondered what experiences others have had with a 220 Blutec W205.
Mine hasn't become operative since we last did a run of around 400 miles, starting to glow green after about 130 miles. Thereafter it worked for a couple of days and became operative again on the way home.
I have had it checked twice and they come back saying 'no fault found' pointing out that there are many boxes to be ticked before it will work.
On a recent loan car, also a diesel, the stop-start worked flawlessly, as it did on my two C180, 204s.
Any help would be appreciated.

In both cases i would advise you to have it looked at.
However other users on this forum would love it when their car would have a non functional start-stop system

My local dealership wants it overnight to charge the battery to check it out, but I would have thought a 70-mile run should have done that OK. However, we'll see what they say next week.
Thanks for your comments,

I also had problems with the start/stop function working intermittently.Soon after that ,the "auxiliary battery malfunction"error appeared on the dashboard. The two things seam to be connected as many of the forum members had the "auxiliary battery malfunction" which got solved by changing the voltage converter located on the front passeger footwell.
I thing that is responsible for the start/stop function.

I have a may 15 S205 32500km on the clock and have also noticed the stop start does not always work. However my car does spend a lot of time standing say 2 or 3 days and I often cover short distances. Some days the start start symbol goes green relatively quickly other times it is a surprisingly long journey. I have had no other warning messages and assume it is just the car deciding what power it needs. I do wonder if the stop start system is like the gearbox and learns typical usage so in my case tends to try to recharge the battery before reintroducing the stop start.
I mentioned it at the B service in June but the garage indicated there was unlikely to be any fault and it was normal. There was no report of an issue when I collected the car and the loan car also took some time for the stop start to work on that day - very hot so air con was working hard.
Wish the system was a bit smoother when it does kick in but it really is something we need to accept and live with as a certain advertising campaign has it every little helps.....

I had same issue with my Bluetec. Turned out to be the battery. They tried to charge it overnight but the fault kept coming back. Eventually they replaced the battery and everything was back to normal.

I have no warning messages coming up...yet! Simply that Stop - Start system doesn't work. The last time it worked I had to travel 120 miles before the yellow light switched to green.
The car goes in on Tuesday next week, so I'll let you know what they find.
Thanks for the suggestions, though.
