I purchased mine from GZCarphone a while back. I might have seen them cheaper on eBay recently. No wire splicing involved. The toughest part for me was gluing on the door panel light.
The new Mercedes C Class W205 does has come with original tricolor ambient light, in low version it is without ambient light,

The light color can be controlled by the Mercedes Command control button, with 3 colors (Ice Blue, Classic Orange and Sparkle Silver) and 5 levels brightness for options.

If u have Audio20 and the small screen you should look at the vid of post #27. It shows how to use the obd programmer. If u have Command with the bigger screen it won’t work.

Yeah I have the COMAND system with the big screen so that doesn't help me! They should be sending me a new programmer anyways so no worries!
@Carphone Please help. I need the option code for a 2016 C450 AMG with COMAND system. i had the lights installed and now mercedes needs the option code in order to activate them. DO you have any suggestions?
Well I've installed the light and found a repair shop who can code the lights at a reasonable price.

I installed my before from another company, here in Markham ON. For me, all they need to know is if you have ambient light control as an option with the 3 light option. For me, I had this and installed the 64 colour option in my car and I could control it by toggling the Comand *** and it would cycle through all the colour options. I did not need a dongle but I did have to connect the main module to CAM open port, which is located on the passenger floor side.
Of course I also installed the air ducts. For the door, I did not have to remove my door lights, I just had to unplug my lights and install the lights with a module in the door. Everything is installed, no splicing, just plug and play.
