What to do in incline?

What to do in incline?
I know the W205’s have to
automatic parking brakes but I don’t see it
engaged when car is running but in park.
What happened was I was at a incline
had to stop for a moment I press the car in P
but didn’t see the “brake” red light come up.
Does that mean I have to engage it manually?
or Does the car applies the brake automatically?
Any suggestions? Thanks

You might consider (2) things:
1. Use "Brake Hold" feature to lock brakes
2. Then press in "Parking Brake" button - lower left dash panel - which sets the Parking Brake
Automatic Parking Brake setting kicks in when car is in Park and Ignition Turned off.
Whether Parking Brake is set manually or set automatically - in both cases Parking Brake will disengage as you move forward or back.
Keep the beat !

I think the parking brake doesnt engage automatically in 15s.. my c400 wont engage on its own at all, even if i turb the car off in park without t engaged. But the 16 c300 i had as a rental did engage itself automatically and disengage as well when the car is put into drive.
