Check your Headrest

finally made an appointment to get my driver headrest replaced , they did the passenger side earlier last year.

I got the car back Friday and It’s like a different car , I hear no squeaks or ratttles the whole thing just went silent ! which makes no sense cause I thought the headrest had only started rattling 3 to 6 weeks ago prior to that I had 0 , no clue ! that my headrest rattled ! I thought it was the center console or something

Could you change the rattle by moving the headrest up and down or was it there regardless? Mine has several rattles but the main one is so hard to locate, sounds like the passengers seat belt but I guess it could be the seat/headrest assembly

My passenger headrest rattled like a baby toy. Dealer replaced it. They said something had broken inside.

I discovered this ad well this weekend. We took a 250 mile road trip and I wan picking up a sound out of my right ear that sounded like a rattle in the speakers in the right rear door. I pulled over and put my wife back there and we traced it to the passenger head rest. It seems pushing it all the way down stops it.

+1. I discovered it a few weeks ago and just took it to the dealer to replace it. The SA did it in front of me and it took about 30 seconds! When we shook the old one after we removed it you can clearly hear that something was broken inside. Now I'm pretty happy with the results no more rattles on large bumps

Thanks I have B service next week 'll ask them about it. I put my wife in the back seat to find it and we did get it to stop by putting the rest all the way down. This position is OK for my wife so I'm really not worried about it. If they say it is a quick fix I'll let them do it.

No problem... For me the quickest way to to identify it was to sit in the driver seat and put my hand behind the passengers seat and then smack it (moderate to heavy pressure). If you hear something similar to the rattle you hear then the issue is in the headrest. Mine also stopped making noise after I lowered it all the way down but only for a week or two, then it came back much louder and always there.

Mine sounds like a crackle in a blown speaker. I guess that is about as good as I can describe.it.

Hmmm.. My best advice would be to remove the headrest yourself (takes like 5 seconds) and take it out of the car and shake it, see if you hear any rattle within it. The SA removed it by tilting the passenger seat backwards and pulling it while pressing the release button (the one that let's it slide down also stops it from sliding out. When mine was taken out, you can shake it and hear a really loud rattle almost like there's a coin in there or something.
