I just got a 2018 C43 Sedan. My car didn't come with the "SD Card Garmin Map Pilot" (navigation) and I want to add it. Can anyone send me a link on ebay or anywhere else to buy it besides the dealer? I'm looking for the latest updated one and the United States/ North America map.

I don't know if people are just damn lazy or what. But if you know you can buy it on Ebay, why couldn't you just do a search on it? Is it really hard to type "Mercedes Garmin sd card"?

I've searched for it. It's difficult to find. I have to make sure that it fits a 2018 W205 C-Class and have to make sure it's for North America.
I agree. There are different cards and different versions of the same card. I bought the v 8.2 for the 2017 c 300. Should be here tomorrow. I lurked for a long time trying to learn what I needed.
Well.. if you want to make sure you get the "correct" SD card - the "best" way is to get a quote from your MB dealer - who will use you VIN to double check correct MB part #.

That's the one I ordered. Should be here today. I read that you need a newer version, like this one, because the old versions came on a 16gb card and the new updates take more. This one is supposed to come on a 32gb card.
Wondering if I should update before putting it in the slot? Has anyone else updated this type of chip? What's the best way?
I guess the dealer could update for me for a fee but I don't want to do that.
Suggestions appreciated. I'll report once I get the chip updated and installed.

A Garmin SD Nav card cannot be checked for "updates" until after it is activated. "Updates" are very tedious - and best done late night - as that process takes hrs and hrs
If you ordered 8.1 than frankly - enjoy your Nav and check for updates down the road - you don't want to waste you valuable time checking for something that quite frankly isn't there..

This is the one I just got in the mail. Not $89 but it's the 8.1 version. Not a bad price. I offered less than asking price, as per listing "make offer". I'll report in a couple of days as to how it's working out in my 2017 C300.
I ordered v8.1 from the same seller a few weeks ago and I have had zero issues with it. I will however say that there is very much an update available. Here's a computer screenshot (and yes, it took a LOOONG time and I think Garmin is throttling downloads because it was nowhere near as fast as the internet speeds at my house usually are).

So the sequence is put the chip in car to initialize it, then take it out and update on my computer?

It's pretty simple and you don't need to worry about messing anything up. The program will tell you to put the card is not activated if you try to update before using it in the car.

I recently bought a 2016 C300 which had the option "355-preinstallation for nav. retrofitting". I bought a card on ebay V8.1 Map 8.0 010-12267-08,(site listed my car compatible) loaded into the Nav system and it was working for a couple of days.
Then this message came on the screen "Memory Card Validation - please eject the Garmin MAP Pilot SD card and verify that the write protection switch is in the UNLOCKED position" The switch is in the correct position and it will not reload. Seller is sending me another card. I wonder if these are counterfeit? Seller has a good rating on ebay. Wondering if I should just get a refund and find a different source. Thanks for any help.
Ordering from places like Amazon or ebay is shakey. I bought one SD card (8.2 version) for my 2018 C300 from Amazon. It came in a ziploc bag, not its original packaging, and didn't work! It kept on giving me the message "No memory card containing navigation software inserted". I ended up returning it. I would really like to buy a genuine Garmin SD card from either Garmin or MB without paying a hefty price. I have been searching the web for hours! Please share your experience!!
I got mine from Amazon recently. The seller is Downtown Motors. Shipped 2 day air even without prime. I think it’s much easier to make a return on Amazon than EBay if any problems should arise.
