Installing oem illuminated star 2015 c300
Hello guys, I am new to the forum I have a 2015 C 300 with luxury package and it does have driver assist package with Blindspot monitoring and all. I want to buy the illuminated star install it myself and I did see a post on here however I thought all I had to do was plug it into the fuse box and ground it on the vehicle, can anyone please tell me what I need to do and what fused to tap into on a 2015 C 300 luxury package and driver assist package? Thank you.

With Luxury and Drivers Assist packages I'm thinking you have Distronic Plus too. If that is the case the radar sensors for the cruise control (distronic plus) are located in your present "glass" covered star and because of that you can't put in the illuminated star. If you do not have Distronic Plus then I'm sure there is a way to install lighted star but will leave that up to others to chime in.

Ok, theres a post on here saying it goes into a fuse pin on fuse box and then ground ? I doubt it as one of the mercedez dealers is saying it needs two different things (star plus wiring). Either way, I dont care how much money you have, $1600 is too much for a darn star lol. Anyone else has had better luck on a 2015 c300 ? I saw on ebay one for under $400 and it seems to have everything you need, I gave seller my vin and will wait for his reply.
If anyone knows the answer to this question and needs a vin, here it is; Vin 55SWF4KB0FU04855
Thanks agains fellas.

All right guys, then installation was pretty easy, if you bought it from the dealership or an OEM one, it’s literally 20 to 30 minutes to install very very easy here are some pics. As far as connecting you will put it in to the s8, #8 pin underneath the fuse box and drill a hole on the side. It already comes with rubber/grommet if its OEM so you can seal it cause no water can get in there. Very easy to hide wires as well, Still light here in Ohio so I cannot really show you the star lit up, however when night comes I will power it on and take another picture.

On my W204 I put the star in myself but not the MB branded star because I didn't think it was worth the price they were selling it for. I purchased an aftermarket star which fit perfectly, the only thing is that I wanted my star to only come on and turn off when the side markers turned on. So in the day, the star did not turn on which I really liked. I just spliced into one of the side marker lights and that was it - all hooked up. No problems with it and it worked like it should.

Unfortunately, I have the W205. I had a new grill installed by the dealer because I didn't feel like messing with pulling the bumper off. The mechanic told me not to splice into the headlamp wires, as that would mess up the LED Voltage. I agreed. I tried Fuse 108 and Fuse 110. However, when doing that, the Star stays lit for at least 2 hours. I say at least, because after two hours I disconnected it. There has to be a fuse I can connect to. Has no one else installed a non OEM star on a W205 successfully.

Try fuse 113. This turns it on only when the lights are on, and (I believe) the ignition is in the operating (not accessory) position. It's apparently also controlled by the light sensors that turn on the headlamps, because my aftermarket star does not appear to illuminate during the daytime. Hope this helps.
