Best winter floor mat
Hi, I am thinking of getting the Mercedes all-weather floor mats for the front. Are they very good for Winter ? I was also looking at the Weathetechs. They seems to go up higher on the sides.
What's the best to protect the carpet from salt other then not driving the car at all ?lol

I just bought a full set of these (MB all weather) and had to remove them because of the powerful rubber smell. I have already soaked them overnight in a cleaning solution to get rid of it, and then dried them in sun for 5 days. The headache inducing smell is still there.
I'll try soaking a few more nights with vinegar, dry again in sunlight, and see if it's bearable.
I wish I had gotten the plastic weathertech ones instead, not to deal with this hassle.

If you're dealing with A LOT of snow and salt (especially salt) multiple days a week, then you'll want the WeatherTech's. They are undoubtedly the best in the biz when it comes to floor mats. But they stick out like a sore thumb IMO. So for your average winter use, the OEM benz mats are just fine. I live it Utah and snowboard a lot and the OEM rubber's are working great for me. And they blend right in to the floor like they aren't even there.
Weird, I had no noticeable smell from mine. Maybe as they sat on the shelf, they aired out for a bit before I bought them?
At least new rubber smell isn't the worst smell in the world eh? haha

I have the MB rubber mats and have had Weathertech mats in previous cars. They both fit extremely well and both stop water from seeping through into the carpet, BUT they both have the same problem of creating a puddle of water under my heals.
I live in MN where we have snow and slush all winter long. I really would like to find a version of the Weathertech or MB matts that have a quick drying fabric/pad layer on top of the rubber to wick the puddle away from my feet. Maybe microfiber would work? I'm not sure.
Does anyone know if a product like this exists?

Well.... Weathertech makes the MB All-Weather - and for most areas the MB is sold at local MB dealers for same price as Weathertech's - no major savings either way..

Found a beautiful diamond cut black leather red stitching AMG floor mats for my C43 Coupe. Fitting and quality are perfect. I would even go so far to say as superior to Mercedes quality in the terms of final product.
