I wanted to see if anyone knows if this will work with a 2015 C300 4 Matic that does NOT have Distronic Plus. I like the look of this Illuminated Star with the glass covering better compared to the other ones.
If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The "insight" is you have it on order - and it will fit up fine... however how this looks as compared to the original "Distronic Star" you will have to judge after you get it.
The MB "Distornic Star" is a hologram enbedded in a plastic.... when you get your China one is - shoot a photo and let us know what you think of the China-look..
In my 2010 E550 Distronic follows the car in front as long as I set the speed the same or higher than that car. It stops behind the car by itself unless the car in front makes quicker stop than the Distronic is set to give as a maximum. I think I read somewhere this limit is 1 g deceleration (might be something else).
If faster stopping is needed I get the red triangle warning and a beeping warning and when I then just touch the brake pedal the car applies the brakes at the strength that is needed to avoid the collision. I think this is what they call “Braking Assistance”.
This assistance also also warns if I come from behind a stopped car. It will not stop as it is a stationary object unless the radar saw the car stopping but it warns and applies 40% brakes if I don’t do anything so collision will happen but with less force. Again if I just touch the brakes at the warning the car does the braking for me.
My car does not have the active lane keeping, just the wheel shake so I don’t know much about it but I would be scared if my car would start actively follow another car leaving the driving lane. Does not sound safe to me.

The item is mislabeled. You cannot have Distronic and the illuminated star. It's one or the other. Distronic equipped cars have the slightly protruding star that houses some of the vehicle sensors used by the Distronic system.
I'm pretty sure Mr. J is correct. Our dealer's MB accessories catalogue and ODUS doesn't show a Distronic illuminated star option since the Distronic plate has the long distance radar sensor right behind it.... Judging by the pictures in the link, what you ordered is probably a fake Distronic "look-a-like" plate. If you have Distronic, that most likely won't fit in front of the radar sensor.
If you don't have Distronic, it might fit since there isn't a radar sensor behind the star... but it's Ebay, so who knows. . Good luck though, hope it works.
