Loud Noise when changing gears for C300
Hello All,

I have recently purchased 2016 c300 car with less than 16K miles and when I took my car for service and noticed after service 'loud/weird noise when changing gears' and dealers explains me its common noise that most Mercedes have. Is this how Merc brand is.

Am regretting buying merc now. Attaching a video that shows exact sound my car makes now. Please let me know if anyone found a fix for this before.

2017 mercedes C300
I have a C300 2017 and would not like that sound. I guess next time I will roll my window down and listen for the shifts but I don't think I will hear that sound.

Mine makes that noise and so does our GLE. I was told it's the transmission electronically selecting the gear, since you know, there's no actual lines going from a shifter.

How'd you record that from being stationary? I think when I'm st a full stop and put the car from drive to park, it makes a tiny noise, but definitely can't hear anything while car is moving.

so in this Video... are you putting it in a gear then into neutral or park over and over or is this noise when you’re not even changing gears?

Hint, if the former, normal to hear the box changing gear modes.

I have this same issue. What's happened to MB? That and the silly 4 cylinder engine noises at idle and startup. Why did I leave my W204 6 cylinder?

Is the consensus this is normal noise? I just noticed same clunking while at drivethru with windows down. Can’t hear it with windows up.

this is just the electronic transmission changing in and out of gear. totally normal.
