H&R lowering springs with stock shocks

Got them installed not too long ago, going to get an alignment soon but thinking of getting Bilstein Shocks to help with an issue. Every time I hit a slight dip/pothole, the car... (can’t really describe it) slams into it makes a loud noise and everything shakes? I wanna say bottoming out. Is it blown or normal? Suspension wise H&R springs, stock shocks 19x8.5 square, 235/35R19. If I get the new shocks would it not do the above? I avoid potholes as much as possible but slight dips would cause ^. Hope this makes sense thanks.

IIRC, I read from H&R that their springs could be used with the stock shocks. What mileage is on your car?

30k miles. It works, but H&R didn’t say it works well lol! Looks awesome but pretty rough ride.

Have you taken off your wheels and checked the shocks? Any leaking? I'm always for changing shocks when you change springs, the OEM ones wont last too long. If you plan to stay with this setup, you have to change your driving; ever driven a lowered car?

yeah I have, a lowered (much lower) Clk500 Eibach springs and stock struts, for 20k miles and no issues, I’ve checked bilsteins and only able to buy fronts but no rears, and left and right are different part numbers too. Haven’t checked after in spring install. Only the front left is having issues that I’m aware of, well I am hitting it on the left lol. It’s an avoidable :/ if I get an alignment then change my shocks do I need another alignment?

Exactly why I changed my shocks. They would bottom out on potholes. If you change the shocks you will need another alignment.

i checked the Canadian site and it’s 355 each free shipping. Haven’t found the rears but assuming it’s the same that’s $1420 plus my springs $320, I’m already $320+$200 for labor that’s $520 so far... I should have gotten coil overs? Should I sell spring to get coils? Or....... just got the 2 fronts the rears seems ok not bottoming out. Yet.

I did H&Rs and one of my stock shocks was leaking. It sounded like it was bottoming out, loud thump over even small bumps. It was just one side. Dealer replaced the ONE leaking shock under warranty. I also want to replace at least the rear shocks for now. However I cant find any in the US. I’m waiting for summitracing to have them back in stock. Rear Bilstein are $130 a piece.

Try giving FCP Euro a call and see what they can find for you. They know the W204 inside and out and I'm sure they can figure out a solution for the w205 as well. Plus their lifetime replacement policy doesn't hurt.
