C220 Bluetec Sport Premium - Mystery Display Diagram

The display between the two instrument dials is set to "Trip" showing the car's speed.

As soon as I start the car and move off, the display changes.

It now shows a diagram of the car, side on, with doors removed and unfastened seatbelts. There no "red" warning nor a chime to suggest anything's wrong.

The doors are closed and seatbelts fastened. Any anyway there are seatbelt and door open warnings elsewhere in the system.

I can clear the message by pressing "OK" on the steering wheel, but it's an infernal nuisance.

I've scoured the 400+ pages manual and, of course, used Google but have turned up zilch.

I can't post a photo as I don't have access to a camera the moment.

Any ideas, please?

Best build quality of any car I've ever driven in a long life - but too much tech!

Hi. I think its got something to do with the internal sensors. When I start mine up it shows the same diagram and gives the impression that the rear seatbelts should be attached even though there's no one sitting there (...I hope)..but it then disappears within seconds so I don't really worry about it.

Thanks so much for this. As you'll see, I've now managed a photo.

I'm sure that's right. It's so counter-intuitive. There are no weight sensors on the back seats, so it seems that the driver is warned that if there are rear passengers they should be asked to buckle up.TMI!

Mine does that as well. Nothing to worry about. If someone didn't have their seatbelt done, the car will come and show that. Likewise with a door ajar.

Mine does it too, just stays on for a few seconds and then is gone.
The thing I find strange is that the door open message only appears after the car starts moving
