I bought this car a couple of weeks ago. It's done 19,500 miles and it was serviced by an M-B dealership before delivery.
Today, a dash warning flashed up on the dash a couple of times, a few minutes apart: in the speedo section, top half, centre (not to the right).
It appeared for just a couple of seconds and all I could see in that time was a red triangle. There wasn't a "beep" and no malfunctions are stored in the system.
I was driving on a motorway about at 60mph. No other vehicles near me. It's been a hot day and the road was bone dry.
I appreciate there's not much to go on because of the brevity of the triangle's appearance. But does anyone have a guess. Given the road conditions I can't imagine that the ESP kicked in, so I wondering if the Collision Assist has developed a life of its own .I' ve heard that it can be "sensitive".
Needless to say, I scoured the manual and can't get any answer there.

I’ve had the collision assist triangle and beep go on for no apparent reason.

hahaha me too! I’ve noticed it does it on uneven crappy pavement where large different colored patches on the road appear. I mean mine will go off all the time on the freeway because I drive like a crazy person but It sometimes goes off when there’s nobody on the road.Originally Posted by GreekUPS

I've now read other reports of this where the collision assist has been implicated. Just puzzled that I didn't heard a bleep.

The red triangle just indicates that you are close enough for collision protect to be activated.
