C220D Sport saloon
UK spec C220D Sport Active Highbeam Assist
I have just bought a 2017 C220D Sport salon (on a 17 plate), part-ex’ing a 62 plate C220CDI AMG Sport Coupé against it. The older vehicle had headlights which followed the steering at higher speeds and added “fill in lighting” at lower speeds. It also had Active Highbeam Assist which had to be switched on via the “lighting” sub-menu from “settings” as displayed in the speedo.
on the new vehicle the corner lighting now appears to be part of Intelligent Lighting System which is supposed to have a settings sub-menu of its own from “settings” in the multi-function display. My car doesn’t have this menu. The owners manual also describes two versions of the Active Highbeam Assist but does NOT describe a settings option to enable this. Doing what the manual says will turn this feature on simply switches on the main beams, namely setting the main lighting switch to “Auto” and pushing the indicator stalk (combination switch as MB call it) forwards.
SO: does all this mean my vehicle does not have either of these features? OR am I misunderstanding something here? Were these two features moved into paid-for options (or option packs)?
