H&R lowering springs - new shocks?

considering lowering my 4matic on H&R Sport springs but not sure if i will need to buy new shocks to use instead of the oem shocks. any advice? will it ruin my oem shocks/ride quality if i use them with the h&r springs? i'm on the non-sport (comfort) suspension btw
