Tyre size question
I have the 19inch rims from factory and the car came with 225/40/19 front and 255/35/19 rear and I swapped the run flats for PS4S last month.
Got a bolt through the tyre yesterday (rear) and went to Kwik Fit to be told it was not repairable and needed a new tyre.
They didn’t have any PS4S’ in stock - only ones they had in were P Zero’s and so was told I had to buy 2 so they were the same cross axel with it being 4matic - although I thought they should be the same tyres cross axel for non 4matic/AWD cars?
I only noticed this a few hours ago but the size of the P Zero’s is 255/40/19 so they have a slightly larger profile - therefore the rear tyres now have a slightly larger diameter than the fronts.
Can anyone please tell me if this is going to cause any issues with it being a 4matic.
Thanks!

It works out to be approx 3 inches difference in rolling length between from and rear. Although it doesn’t sound like much an additional 3 inches per revolution adds a lot of length.

the short answer is yes you will have some issues maybe not straight away but eventually the light will come on the dash and for extended use you can burn out the awd components because the front and rear are fighting against each other.

I wish I had noticed this before they were mounted but it had been a long day driving and I just wanted to get home!
So I've basically paid £450 for 2 tyres that are eventually going to cause some damage - surely the “trained” tyre fitters should have known this?!
Anyway, thanks for clarifying and I suppose I’d better contact them to try and get them to swap for the correct size - not holding my breath though.
Thanks for the reply!

Hey mate you can always return/exchange the tire for one month used. Been doing this with my car. I also have 4matic running 235/30/20s and 285/25/20s never had any issues
