Thoughts about buying a 2015 C300 from Carmax
Hello,
I am thinking about buying a 2015 C300(with less than 20k miles) from Carmax. Can you guys tell me some things that I should definitely check before buying or if there are any concerns with this model? I would also appreciate any other information about the cost of ownership in about 3-5 years.
PS: This is my first car purchase.
Thanks

Car is no fun without an extended warranty , so many warranty repairs done on mine
don’t skip out on moonroof, lights package and burmester.
ask if carmax warranty would cover weird stuff like wind noise or strange noises from headrest

Just remember, this forum represents less than 1% of w205 owners out there and on here every single problem is magnified a hundred fold. Just like every car, there will be little issues. The w205 is a great car overall, especially with the AMG sport package. Find one you like (preferably under warranty), have a good inspection done, and enjoy the car!

I bought my 2015 C300 Sport from Carmax at about 15k miles as my first car purchase. I would definitely ask for all of the service history on the car and test drive it thoroughly. Also, listen for the wrist pin issue. There are a few threads here with videos to reference what it sounds like. The dealer warranty is due to expire on the 2015’s rather soon (4 yr) so if you are serious about purchasing the car, make sure you do your due diligence as I made frequent visits to the dealership once purchased from Carmax. If I had to pay out of pocket for these repairs, I would not have purchased the car. Other than that, I am super happy with the car.
